How to Prepare for IIM Bangalore UG Exam Syllabus?

Check out the preparation tips for IIM Bangalore that helps students ace the exam with high marks:

1. Strengthen Reading Comprehension and Verbal Skills

Practise short and long passages regularly to improve reading speed and comprehension. Focus on identifying the central idea, author's tone, inference and supporting arguments. Along with reading comprehension, revise grammar rules, vocabulary, sentence correction and verbal reasoning. Solve timed passage-based questions to improve accuracy.

2. Build Class 10–12 Mathematics Concepts

Cover the core concepts included in the Quantitative Ability syllabus, particularly arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, probability and statistics. Start with NCERT-level concepts before moving to application-based questions. Maintain a formula sheet and practise calculations regularly to reduce time spent on straightforward questions.

3. Practise Data Interpretation Sets

For Data Interpretation, solve questions based on tables, graphs, charts and caselets. Focus on percentages, ratios, averages and other calculations commonly required to interpret numerical information. Practise complete DI sets under time limits instead of solving individual questions, as this helps improve both calculation speed and data analysis.

4. Develop Logical Reasoning Through Practice

Prepare for Logical Reasoning by practising coding-decoding, series, arrangements, puzzles, syllogisms, critical reasoning and logical deductions. Begin with individual question types and gradually move to mixed sets. For puzzles and arrangements, learn to organise the given information systematically before attempting the questions.

5. Prepare General Awareness for BBA DBE

Stay updated with current affairs, especially major national and international events, business and economy, government schemes, awards, sports, science and technology, and important organisations. Read reliable news sources regularly and revise important events through monthly current affairs notes. Practise General Awareness questions to improve recall and identify topics that need more revision.

6. Attempt Mock Tests

Use sectional tests to measure progress separately in English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability & DI, and Logical Reasoning. Since the exam has 60 questions in 135 minutes, practise completing each section within its prescribed time. Analyse incorrect and unanswered questions after every test and revise the concepts behind recurring mistakes.
