Courses Offered at IIMs in India

IIM Admission Process (UG & PG)

Getting into an IIM is a dream for lakhs of aspirants every year. While most IIMs admit through the Common Admission Test (CAT) for postgraduate programs, some offer specialized entrance tests for integrated or executive programs.

For MBA

• Qualify for CAT Exam: Appear for the CAT exam, conducted annually by one of the IIMs on a rotational basis (usually in November).
• Shortlisting by IIMs: Each IIM releases its own CAT Cut-off Percentile to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
• Written Ability Test (WAT): Shortlisted candidates write a short essay to assess communication and analytical skills.
• Personal Interview (PI): The final round where candidates are evaluated on academics, work experience, and overall personality.
• Final Composite Score: The final merit list is prepared based on CAT score, WAT, PI, academic background, gender diversity, and work experience.

For IPM (Integrated Program in Management)

• Admission through IPMAT exam, conducted by IIM Indore or Rohtak.
• Shortlisted candidates appear for Personal Interview.
• Selection based on IPMAT score, academic record, and performance in PI.

For Executive MBA and PhD

• Based on GMAT/GRE/CAT scores, followed by interviews and SOP review.
• Candidates with industry experience are preferred.
