About IIM Bodh Gaya

The Government of India established IIM Bodh Gaya in 2015, and it is the 16th IIM in the country. It was set up under the mentorship of IIM Calcutta. The institute is located in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, known for its association with the ancient Nalanda tradition of learning. 

IIM Bodh Gaya is known as “The Enlightening IIM”, reflecting its focus on mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and social responsibility in management education. 

IIM Bodh Gaya is AACSB accredited. In 2026, it became the 6th among 22 IIMs to receive AACSB accreditation. This places it among the top 6% of business schools worldwide with this accreditation.

IIM Bodh Gaya Logo and Motto

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama unveiled the IIM Bodh Gaya logo on 14 January 2020. Chakradhar Sastry, a designer from the National Institute of Design, R&D Campus, Bengaluru, designed it. The logo represents Nalanda and Bodh Gaya, reflecting the institute’s connection with knowledge and enlightenment. 

The institute's motto is “सर्वे भवन्तु प्रसन्नाः”. It is derived from the Pali language and conveys the message: “Let all be witnesses of all good happenings.”

IIM Bodh Gaya Admission Process

The IIM Bodh Gaya admission process varies by programme. IPM requires JIPMAT, while MBA, MBA-DBM, and MBA-HHM offer admission through CAT with PI. 

IPM Admission

The IIM Bodh Gaya CAT cutoff increased across categories from CAT 2022 to CAT 2025, with the General cutoff rising from 92 to 95 percentile. The EWS and OBC-NCL cutoffs increased from 70/74 to 81, while SC rose from 54 to 66 and ST/PwD from 40 to 42.
