IPMAT Indore Exam Pattern 2026, Section-Wise Paper Pattern

IPMAT Indore assesses students based on an Aptitude Test (AT) and a Personal Interview (PI). Knowing the IPMAT Indore exam pattern is crucial for all exam takers. As per the latest IPMAT Indore paper pattern there are three sections in the exam - Quantitative Aptitude (MCQs), Quantitative Aptitude (Short Answers) and Verbal Ability.

The duration of each section of the 3 sections is 40 minutes and the total exam duration is 120 minutes. Each question in the exam carries 4 marks. In the IPMAT Indore exam pattern 2026, there is a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer except for one section - QA Short Answer. This section has no negative marking.

IPMAT Exam Pattern - Difference Between QA MCQ and SA

The exam has two sections of Quantitative Ability, one has Multiple Choice Questions and the other one is Short Answer type questions. The MCQ part evaluates the quick analytical skills of the candidates through 30 questions while the SA evaluates the detailed problem-solving abilities through 15 questions. According to the latest IPMAT paper pattern, QA SA has a total of 60 marks whereas QA MCQ has 120 marks in total.

All aspiring candidates must know the marks distribution for each section of the exam. The official marking states that for every correct answer, a candidate is awarded a total of 4 marks. There is negative marking of -1 for QA MCQ and Verbal Ability Section. QA SA section has no negative marking.

As per the latest IPMAT paper pattern, there are three sections in the exam - QA MCQs, QA SA and Verbal Ability. There is a sectional time limit and each section has a time duration of 40 marks.
