XAT Eligibility Criteria 2027: Age, Minimum Marks & All Details

According to XAT eligibility criteria, you should have completed your graduation in any discipline from a recognised institute. In addition, there is no age limit for applying for the exam. Whether you are a fresh graduate or a working professional, you are eligible to take the exam.
There is no minimum marks requirement; however, you must meet the eligibility requirements of the institute you are applying for. XAT score is accepted by 250+ B-schools in India.
In most XAT accepting colleges such as IMI New Delhi and MICA Ahmedabad, at least 50% marks in graduation in any discipline are mandatory. But for institutes like SRM University (Andhra Pradesh), TAPMI Manipal, and Great Lakes Institute of Management, 60% in a bachelor’s degree course is the minimum mark to be eligible for the interview round.

XAT is a popular national-level entrance exam for admission to MBA/PGDM programs in Indian institutes. Along with Indian nationals, foreign candidates can apply for the XAT.

Eligibility Criteria for XAT Exam 2027
Although a bachelor’s degree in any discipline is the required qualification, 50% in graduation is the minimum marks required in most XAT accepting colleges such as IMT Ghaziabad, IMI Delhi and MICA Ahmedabad. Check the criteria below.
XAT Educational Qualification
- You must complete at least 3 years of a bachelor’s degree course from a recognised university.
- If you are appearing for the final year of graduation, you are eligible to take the exam. However, your graduation must be completed by June 12 2027.
Minimum Marks Required in XAT
- There is no minimum marks or percentage requirement to appear for XAT 2027. However, institutes like MICA Ahmedabad and IMT Ghaziabad require at least 50% marks in a bachelor’s in any discipline.
- There is no marks requirement for the reserved category. But if you score 50% or more, that would give you an edge over others during the selection process.
Age Limit for XAT
As per XLRI's eligibility criteria, there is no age criteria for the XAT exam. But you should check the college and course requirements for the programs you want to apply to.
Work Experience
Work experience is not mandatory for XAT 2027. However, work experience requirements depend on the institutes and the courses they offer. In case you want to apply for Great Lakes Institute of Management, you should have at least 36 months of work experience.
Number of Attempts in XAT Exam
There is no limit to the number of attempts in taking the XAT exam.
