1. Overall Drop in cut offs (2023):

Compared to 2022, the JIPMAT cut offs in 2023 went down for most categories. Since the number of applicants did not decrease, this likely means the exam was tougher in 2023.

2. Drop in the General Category cut off:

The general category cut off fell from 354 in 2022 to 342 in 2023. This is unusual because cut offs in competitive exams usually increase every year. This again suggests that the paper may have been more difficult.

3. Multiple cut off Lists:

JIPMAT releases more than five cut off lists every year. Even if the first cut off is high, many students do not take admission, so the cut off drops in later lists. Therefore, this gives more than one chance of admission to candidates scoring fewer marks.

4. Highly Competitive:

Even after several lists, the final JIPMAT cut off usually drops by only around 20 marks. This shows that many students score high marks, making the exam very competitive.
