FMS Delhi Admission Procedure 2027: Eligibility, Cutoff & Selection

FMS Delhi MBA admission is based on the CAT score, followed by a personal interview round. To apply for admission, candidates must submit their applications on the official website of the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. 

The application window is likely to open by October 2026 at http://www.fms.edu/. The application deadline will tentatively be in January 2027. The institute will release the CAT cutoffs, the shortlisting status of applicants, and the Personal Interview schedule on its official website, tentatively by the last week of January or the first week of February 2027.

FMS Delhi gives 50% weightage to the CAT score, 15% to interview, 10% to SoP, 5% to extempore and 10% to class 10 and 12 each. The fee is INR 60,818 per semester which makes it affordable to pursue MBA at a low cost.

 The total number of seats for the full-time MBA program, as per the previous academic report, is 289. For the upcoming FMS Delhi admission 2027 session, we can expect the seat matrix to be the same. Read further to know the FMS Delhi admission process.

FMS Delhi MBA Eligibility Criteria 2027

Just qualifying the CAT cut-off score will not guarantee admission to FMS Delhi. Candidates need to meet the other eligibility requirements to secure a seat for an MBA program at FMS Delhi. Check the minimum eligibility criteria below.

  • A bachelor’s degree in any discipline after 12 years of schooling is the minimum requirement. 
  • At least 50% marks in graduation for the general category, passing marks for SC/ST and 45% marks for OBC-Non-Creamy/EWS/PwD/CW. 
  • Final-year students are eligible to apply.

FMS Delhi Admission Process

Step 1: Register for CAT and Take the Exam

CAT registration has started already and will end on September 15, 2026. Register for the CAT exam and aim for a composite score of 46 or higher, which is equivalent to the 98+ percentile.

Step 2: FMS Delhi Registration

Apply at the institute's website by filling out the application form, which is expected to be available in October 2026. 

Step 3: Evaluation of Statement of Purpose

Candidates shortlisted for the interview will also be called for a discussion on the Statement of Purpose. Here, 10% of the total weightage is given to the SOP round. Initially, the SOP will be discussed, followed by Extempore and PI. 

Step 4: Extempore Round

After the SOP round, candidates will have to appear for the extempore round individually. The extempore carries 5% of the total weightage.

Step 5: Shortlisting for the Personal Interview Round

Based on the CAT composite score, the candidates are shortlisted for the PI round. The composite score for general and other reserved candidates varies depending on the reservation policy. 

Step 6: Final Merit List

The final merit list will be published based on the performance in each round. The offer letter will be provided to candidates based on the final score.

FMS Delhi Selection Criteria

FMS Delhi gives sectional weightage in CAT to prepare the final merit list. 50% of the weightage is for CAT exam sections, while the remaining is allotted to academic score, SOP, extempore, and the interview round. Additionally, 5 marks are awarded to female candidates for appearing in the interview.
