IPMAT Exam Pattern – Difference Between QA MCQ and SA
The exam has two sections of Quantitative Ability, one has Multiple Choice Questions and the other one is Short Answer type questions. Will IPMAT Paper Pattern Change in 2026?
Earlier the entire pattern used to be quite predictable including the type of questions and weightage of each topic. But lately in the last few years there have been a lot of changes in the paper pattern.
This year as well test takers can expect some changes in the IPMAT exam pattern. Earlier Geometry had less weightage and around 2-3 questions were asked but last year IPMAT Indore had approximately 8 questions in Geometry. So you can expect some changes in the IPMAT exam pattern 2026.
Some Changes Expected in IPMAT Indore Paper Pattern-
- Lesser Questions in Arithmetic – Earlier Arithmetic in IPMAT Indore was a high weightage topic and every year around 9+ questions were from this topic. But last year there were only around 3 questions from this topic and the same can be expected in IPMAT Indore 2026.
- RCs Might Carry More Weightage – In previous IPMAT Indore exam, RCs did not carry a significant weightage but recently it has gained a lot of weightage. The total weightage of the RC has increased by almost 50%. This year as well it is expected that RC will have a significant weightage.
More Questions From Geometry Can be Expected – Upon analysing the IPMAT Indore exam pattern earlier it was observed that Geometry had a lesser weightage there were about 2-3 questions from Geometry but in the last year IPMAT Indore question paper there were around 8 questions from this topic. So you can expect that there will be more questions from Geometry in IPMAT.
