CUET UG 2026 Total Marks

CUET UG 2026 total marks are 250. NTA determines the total marks and pattern of CUET UG. Each subject will be of 250 marks, and the total number of questions will be 50. As per the CUET exam pattern 2026, for every correct response, +5 is given, and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. For three subjects, the total marks are 5 subjects in CUET are 1250 and the good score out of 1250 ranges between 900+ marks.

How are CUET Passing Marks Determined?

The CUET passing marks are fixed by the participating colleges. The passing marks or the cut off is released by the universities after NTA releases the CUET result. The key factors on which the passing marks are determined are as follows:

  • Considering the difficulty level of the exam, the cut-off is fixed. 
  • Another major factor is the seat availability. Based on the total number of seats in each course, the cutoff is decided.
  • The universities also follow the reservation policy. The cut off vary for different categories across courses and colleges.

What is the Good Score for CUET UG?

Out of 1250 marks, a good score in CUET is expected to be 1100+ marks. The expected percentile range for such a score is between 98 to 99 percentile. With this score, you can easily land up in prominent universities of India like the University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal University, etc. The CUET low score can be below 400, and the expected percentile is around 80.

What are the passing marks for the CUET exam?

CUET passing marks differ in all colleges. However, the passing marks or the cut-off for top colleges can be between 700 and 850 marks. Candidates scoring within this range may get the desired course and college they want.

What is a good CUET score?

If we consider a raw CUET score, 240+ marks can be considered a good score. For 1000 marks, a good score can be between 800 and 900. Marks above 750 are considered an average score, and marks below 600 are considered a poor score.

How do I calculate my CUET score?

You can calculate your CUET score using the marking scheme, which has been determined by the NTA. For every correct response, 5 mark is awarded, and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect response. Now, calculate the final score, find the sum of correct responses and subtract it from the incorrect responses.

What is a low score in CUET?

If we consider marks out of 1000, the low score in CUET is usually considered to be below 600. But if we consider a raw score (out of 250), the low score is below 100.
