FAQs On CUET Exam Pattern

NTA has laid out the CUET exam pattern. According to the pattern, the total mark is 250 for each subject. The exam will be held in CBT mode for 60 minutes. Each subject will have 50 questions, and each question carries 5 marks.

CUET is a highly competitive exam. Students can easily qualify the exam, but they need to prepare strategically. Consistency in revision, regular or weekly mock tests, and sectional tests will help them understand the pattern, difficulty level and improve time management skills.

700 out of 1000 is a good score; however, you should try to score 850+ marks in CUET. With this score, you have a high chance of getting admission into premier colleges like DU.

The CUET total marks per subject are 250. There will be 50 questions, and each carries 5 marks. 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. As per the NTA pattern, there is no deduction for unattempted questions.

The CUET pattern for science subjects is the same like other subjects. Each science subject is worth 250 marks. The question paper contains 50 questions, which students must answer within 60 minutes.

Yes, the CUET syllabus is entirely designed based on the NCERT curriculum. For the preparation, candidates are recommended to refer to the NCERT books thoroughly. As per the past years’ question papers, most questions come from the NCERT curriculum. However, students are advised to study from other standard books as well for in-depth study.

The CUET passing score is determined by the participating colleges. The passing score varies from course to course in all colleges. The passing score is released as the cutoff marks after NTA declares the results. The expected CUET 2026 passing score can be between 700 and 800 in top universities like DU, BHU, JNU, JMI, etc.

You can prepare for the CUET without coaching, but to score 99 percentile, you need guidance from expert mentors. In the CUET exam, more than 10+ lakh students take the exam, and to help you be in the top position, coaching will help you strategise your study, provide study material, mock series and practice sessions. This helps in improving speed and accuracy.
