CUET Merit List vs CUET Cut Off – Key Differences

CUET cut-off and merit list are completely different in various ways. The key differences between the two have been discussed below:

CUET UG Merit List	CUET UG Cut off
A list containing names of students who have qualified the benchmark score set by the colleges/universities	Minimum score that candidates need to be eligible for the merit list.
Merit list is prepared based on the marks students scored in the CUET exam.	The cut off is decided considering the subjects’ difficulty level, number of students appeared in the exam.
The merit list is prepared rank-wise for seats allotted during counselling.	The cut off marks is used to allow eligible students for the admission.

NTA CUET Merit List 2026 Released

The CUET merit list  2026 will be released by the participating universities individually shortly after the declaration of results. NTA releases the CUET merit list that has the toppers' application number and the aggregate score in 5 subjects. As per the CUET merit list 2026 the highest marks were 1232.19.

CUET Counselling Process 2026 After Merit List Release

CUET UG counselling process is expected to start by the first week of July 2026. The counselling will be held by the CUET participating colleges/universities in online mode. After the release of the result, participating universities and colleges prepare the merit list based on the CUET score. Candidates whose names appear on the merit list should register for the counselling on the official website of the university within the given date and time.
