A good score in CUET 2026 can help you get admission to a premier university like DU, JNU and BHU. A good score often depends on the cut off the university and their respective subject combinations. NTA will conduct CUET 2026 from May 11 to May 31, 2026. The exam will be held in CBT mode at 306 centres across India and 15 centres outside India. What is a Good Score in CUET 2026?

As said earlier, a good score is based on the CUET cut-off marks of the respective universities. If considered for an individual subject, the good score can be 235+ out of 250. CUET marks are calculated based on the raw score. The raw score is the actual marks obtained by the students. If the exam is held in multiple shifts, the score is normalised using a normalisation process.

750+ marks is considered a very good score in the CUET exam. With this score, you may get admission to universities like DU, BHU, JNU and other top-ranked colleges.

The qualifying marks for varies by colleges and categories. While the qualifying marks for top colleges can be high for general candidates, the qualifying score for reserved students is expected to be slightly lower than that.

The CUET DU cut-off varies in all colleges based on the subjects they offer and the number of seats available for the course. The expected cut-off marks for DU can be around 750+ for most courses for general category students.

The CUET BHU cut-off differs in all subjects. The expected CUET cut-off for BHU can be around 400+ for all subjects for general category students.

To get into DU, you need to score at least 700+ marks in the CUET exam. However, the cut-off marks depend on the subject you have applied for. For subjects like Economics and Statistics, the score should be 750+ in the CUET exam. For other courses such as Mathematics, Geology and Physics, 580+ marks are the minimum score for DU-affiliated colleges such as Hansraj, Daulat Ram and Gargi College.

700 out of 1000 is considered good for tier 2 colleges in India. However, for top colleges, your score should be 900+ out of 1000 marks in CUET 2026.

A good score in CUET out of 1250 is generally considered to be in the range of 950–1049 (Good) to 1050–1149 (Very Good), placing candidates in the 90–99 percentile range for top university admissions. An exceptional score is 1150–1250, while 850–949 is average.

A good score in CUET 2026 for OBC candidates is generally considered 400–600+ out of the total, with 600+ required for top-tier universities like Delhi University (DU), BHU, or JNU. A score of 400+ acts as a safe, average score, while a 90+ percentile (roughly 700+ marks) is excellent.
